2009 is the 400th anniversary of Galileo’s first observations that led to the birth of not only modern astronomy but science as well. As such, 2009 has been designated the Year of Astronomy, while Saturday, May 2 is International Astronomy Day. On that day, don’t be surprised if you see amateur astronomers setting up shop on the sidewalk, local library and other public spots to show off their hobby.

With this in mind, both Distant Suns and Grand Tour will both be on sale through Sunday. So even if you don’t have a telescope, you can still enjoy much of what the night sky has to offer.
